OTE Academy dancers aged 11+ are delighted to have been invited to perform with the English Folk Dance and Song Society in a commission for a new piece of choreography to be performed by 36 dancers at  the opening Welcome Event for U.Dance 2016 led by One Dance UK.

Folk Dance Remixed will be creating the piece and they specialise in creating dance in the outdoors arts arena, fusing folk dance with contemporary and hip-hop, performed alongside live musicians and beatboxing.

The performance will take place on the opening night of the festival Friday 8th July outside the Imperial War Museum welcoming the National Youth Dance Groups to the North West. Followed by a processional performance across the Quays bridge to outside of The Lowry to open the first night of performances by the National Youth Dance Company and The Lowry CAT.

The rehearsals for this project will take place in Salford, Sunday 22nd May, Sunday 26th June and Sunday 3rd July.
